A few months back I met a guy who works in my old Profession (anthropology) and has been succeeding at something I've seen others fail at. He's been using his professional chops to research, document, analyze, and interpret aspects of modern pop culture and produce works of legitimate anthropological value and integrity.

His name is Daryl Frazetti, Professor at Western Nevada College, Carson City, and is a huge science fiction fan himself. He has been able to integrate his anthropological skills with his love of science fiction (and other genres) to create his own dream job. Not only does he get to work as a professor of pop culture but he also has a life on the convention circuit as a Guest Speaker. The dude is a known quantity, having been producing quality publications on pop culture since 2006. What's even better is that he's a really cool guy who's fun to hang out with and talk too =D

Daryl already has a respectable body of work (which I will provide links to) but I really want to spotlight one of his current research projects. That would be his Star Trek Fandom Culture II project which focuses on Fan Made Star Trek content creators from all mediums and will be published in 2015 (Titled The Anthropology of Star Trek). Written stories, web series, comics, films, audio stories and more are all of interest. He would like to hear from you all about your Indie/Fan Made Star Trek project, ask some questions, and have you fill out some questionnaires. Direct submissions of your work is also encouraged.

*Content Creators should provide information about their project(s) in the survey as well.

*The survey is anonymous and open to all. You don't have to be a content creator to take part.

Link to Submissions: dfrazetti1@gmail.com

So I'm asking all of my friends out there in the Indie Trek world to please contact Daryl and participate with his research. He can be easily contacted at:

And PLEASE spread the word about this unique research opportunity to everyone you know in the Indie/Fan Made Star Trek world out there. Use your social media site, websites, podcasts, blogs, etc and help give this research project some extra attention!!

Thank you in advance to all of you who take up the call!!

LLAP
