Running this club requires me to spend a very large chunk of my time on working online. When I am I like to have something to listen to, and lately I've been listening to more and more podcasts. Last week I came across Galactic Netcasts. They run a podcast from SciFi Geeks Club that is very good. I listened to 3 in a row my first time on their website =D

So, why do I like them? Firstly the quality of their audio is very clean. We all know how frustrating background noise in podcasts can be, but these folks have licked that problem. I also like the fact that when listening to the show it feels more like your hanging out in a room full of friends rather than listening to a show. They have a relaxed and casual flow to the show while displaying some pretty big Sci Fi chops. The content is diverse and entertaining, with plenty of laughs to be had by the listener.

The folks who run this show are 4 in total. They are Dave Nelson (Host), Brad Ludwig (Co-Host), Anessa Mooyers (Co-Host), and Matt Stein (Co-Host). I REALLY like that one of the Co-Hosts is a woman. The female perspective on SciFi provides for a fuller conversation of the subject and is one that is under-represented by too many content providers. So I give The SciFi Geeks Club big kudos for being more holistic and diverse.

There are other shows on Galactic Networks too:

  • Alien Invasion

  • Weird World Weekly

  • Time Traveling Robots in Space

  • The Sci-Fi Film School

All have both audio broadcasts and video content.

I hope you folks enjoy The SciFi Geeks club and Galactic Netcasts as much as I have. And if you do like them, please let them know!! You can also follow them on:

Happy listening and viewing folks!!
